MUSTO Skiff Class Event Categories

Each year the class associations run local Open Meetings and National competitions. We also host a World Championship every year and various cups and competitive events. An overall winner is decided at each event based on race results.

Given the wide range of sailor ages, the class typically runs competition categories within each event. At present, these categories are as follows:

  • Youth: 25 and under on 01/01/20YY (of event year)
  • Master: 45 or over on 01/01/20YY (of event year)
  • Grand Master: 55 or over on 01/01/20YY (of event year)
  • Legend: 60 or over on 01/01/20YY (of event year)

Note: A sailor only competes in their highest age category. This means, even if a Grand Master beats a Master overall, they do not win the Master category … so, Grand Masters’ are not listed as Masters and Legends are not listed as Grand Masters or Masters.
