Training Camp Dongo 29 April - 7 May 2023
Like last year, we would like to sail again in Dongo in Spring 23 and offer a training week. We would like to give all motivated skiff sailors the opportunity to participate easily in an accompanied training with trainer and support boat.
In Spring, the sea breeze (Breva) begins in good weather in Dervio at about 10:00 am and then builds up continuously. Before noon at 11:00 am the wind draws in Dongo. Usually, the wind increases slowly and increases to about 12-18 kts by mid-afternoon.
The less experienced sailors can set sail at the beginning of Breva and return to land if it gets too wild for them. The more experienced sailors can start when the Breva is already full.
The aim is to carry out a daily training of 2-3 hours duration, accompanied by a trainer (Alexander Greil or other experienced sailors) in a rubber dinghy. At the beginning of the week the focus is on maneuvers and boat handling, towards the end of the week on boat speed and regatta sailing. The training is adapted to the skill of the sailors. Depending on the number of participants, we will hold a regatta (we will keep it simple and do it on our own) on 6 to 7 May. It is important to me that our beginners can benefit as much as possible and make progress. Sailors who prefer to sail alone on the lake are welcome to do so. Sailors who arrive with the family and/or only want to sail for a few days are also welcome.
Last year we stayed at the Magic Lake campsite in the camper or the rooms. At the campsite we can put the boats directly next to the water. For watering it has two concrete ramps and in between a pebble beach where you can leave your beach trolley.

- Goal: Fun sailing together, individual, cross-class preparation for regatta season
- Participants: Skiff and regatta sailors from Switzerland and the surrounding countries
- Accommodation: Each participant is responsible for their own accommodation. We recommend Camping Magic Lake (also has room rental).
- Training: Daily joint regatta training with trainer of approx. 2-3 h
- Catering: Everyone for himself
