After the third day of the ACO 10th MUSTO Skiff World Championship 2019, Rick Peacock (GBR) grabbed a big lead in the provisional overall ranking. The talent coach of the Dutch High Performance Project is nine points ahead of compatriot George Hand, who stormed into the top three with two bullets. Title defender Jon Newman (AUS) fell back to third place overall. The sailing conditions on the IJsselmeer off the coast of Medemblik were light with a variable breeze from the southwest. After three races on the spectacular opening day of the ACO 10th MUSTO Skiff World Championship 2019, British sailor Bruce Keen has taken the lead. The world champion of 2012 and 2015 has a lead of four points over his compatriot Dan Vincent, who stands on equal points with the Dutchman Paul Dijkstra. Thanks to winning the second race of the day, Vincent is in second place. The challenging conditions on the IJsselmeer off the coast of Medemblik put the 92 participants to the test. After a couple of years of absence at the Kieler Woche the MUSTO Skiffs were back again in 2019 with 22 sailors representing 5 nations to fight for the title of Kieler Woche, German Open and EuroCup. Most sailors were conveniently combining it with the worlds logistically or at least using it as a warm up regatta.
With the 10th ACO MUSTO Skiff worlds approaching a new format of a combined racing and training format on the 15/16 of June. The Saturday involved a practice start between each race which was recorded and debriefed at the end of the day by Dan Henderson.
