Noble Marine Sponsor 2020 GBR MUSTO Skiff Training Series

Long-standing supporter of the MUSTO Skiff Class Association, Noble Marine Insurance, has been confirmed as the continued sponsor of the GBR MUSTO Skiff Training Series for 2020.

The annual sponsorship deal with Noble Marine, which specialises in providing boat insurance for a wide range of vessels and marine craft, will help towards funding a dedicated training program for MUSTO Skiff sailors across the UK.

To coincide with the renewed sponsorship, we are pleased to announce the latest dates for our 2020 GBR training series.

On 28/29 March, two sessions will be held at different locations to provide tailored training opportunities to support the breadth of the MUSTO Skiff fleet. An advanced training session coached by GBR coach, Russ Clark, has been confirmed at Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy. This session is now fully booked with all ten places taken.

A second session, aimed at newcomers and those that are looking to advance their boat handling skills and race tactics, has been confirmed at Rutland Sailing Club. Former World Champion, Daniel Henderson, will coach this session. Only a small number of places remain for this eight-boat session. If you are interested to join this session, contact Daniel Henderson via the GBR MUSTO Skiff Facebook Group here.

A third training session has been confirmed for Dalgety Bay Sailing Club over 9/10 May, led by Ian Renilson. Places are still available for this session, which is open to all MUSTO skiff sailors. If you are interested to join this session, let us now via the GBR MUSTO Skiff Facebook Group.

Commenting on the continued sponsorship for 2020, Phil Kilburn of Noble Marine Insurance, said:

“Noble Marine has been associated with the MUSTO Skiff Class Association for over 15 years. The Class Association has always been supportive of both new and existing members offering good quality training. The training benefits the class as the quality of racing improves and there are also far fewer accidents.”

GBR MUSTO Skiff Class Association representative, Ben Schooling, said:

“Noble Marine has supported the Class for many years now, so we are pleased to continue this partnership with them over 2020. The training sessions are always really popular, and this continued sponsorship will help us to increase the number of training sessions per year. We are also aiming to do the sessions with much smaller boat numbers to provide more in-depth coaching, which will go a long way to support newcomers and maintain the competitive levels across the fleet.”

More training dates will be added in the coming months. Details of each session will be shared here, on the Class website, and on our GBR Facebook Group page.
