The 2020 Skiff & 29er Open at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club on 3rd & 4th October attracted 28 MUSTO Skiffs representing the northern and southern circuits. The event concluded with the ultimate battle of the youths to win the Derwent Open title. Read the full report here.
A couple of years ago, the class voted to explore a new mainsail design. A test sail was made and trialed. This sail was not considered to be a sufficient advance to warrant further consideration. The class voted to ‘pause’ the project and it was put on hold. The project will reopen in February 2021.
Already a multiple German Open winner and previous Kieler Woche winner, Germany’s Iver Ahlmann, did not disappoint this year at Kieler Woche, achieving 7 first place positions to ultimately win the MUSTO Skiff event title. Since the last update in June, the COVID-19 outlook has been more optimistic for much of Australia, except for those in the state of Victoria, where unfortunately high-level restrictions are still in place.
