What got you into MUSTO Skiff class?
I sailed 49-er before but wanted to sail a boat alone. The MUSTO Skiff was perfect for that. And I still think it is the coolest boat there is!!!

What have you sailed previously?
Flits, Schakel, 29-er and 49-er,

How old , tall and heavy are you?
Born 1987, height 1.90m, weight 82kg

How much training did you do in the MUSTO Skiff in the year prior to the nationals win?
Sailed all regatta weekends and so many weekends training with my nephews as possible.

Did you do any specific training exercises to improve your boatspeed & handling?
Not something special, try to train together so much as I can. So we can see how the speed is. And I try different boats during the summer to learn different things. In the winter I sail with a model sailing boat

What were your rig settings (Take, tension (shroud & Lowers) spreaders (length & deflection))?
Take: 7.25m
Shroud: 29
Lowers: 11

What did it feel like to lift the trophy at the prize giving?
It felt great!! Nice to have a great competition with more boats and win it.

What other hobbies do you have?
In the winter I do some competition in RC Sailing.

Are you married / have any kids?
Marieke is my girlfriend, the most of you will know her. We will getting married the 12th of February next year.

What is your favorite band/music?
Rock from Jason Mraz to Queens of the stone age

What is your favorite food?
Mexian food and “gehaktballen” (kind of meat balls)

What is your day job?
Since 2012 I have my own boatbuilders company. Specialized in carbon works, from parts to complete boats. Everything is custom build. So if anyone wants a boat??!
