Event: 2022 EOS Skiff Cup – Lac de Sanguinet – 28 to 31 Oct
Report by Alexandre Emanuel
The FRA class concluded their 2022 Musto Skiff season at the Skiff Cup at Lac de Sanguinet over October 28 to 31. The event was a perfect mix between amateur and Olympic level, with the event seeing the victory of a 100% female crew in front of a dense fleet of 47 boats!
The Skiff Cup was once again a regatta where professional crews in 49er (Men) and 49er FX (Women) can come together to sail and enjoy mixing with amateurs of the Breizhskiff Trophy, which included 4000, RS800, I14, Contender, Musto Skiff, and future champions in the 29er.
Two FRA sailors took part in the event to enthusiastically represent the Musto Skiff Class – Yoann Justeau and Alexander Emanuel. Yoann finished as the top Musto Skiff in 23rd place overall and Alexander finished in 39th place overall.
For this year’s regatta, the podium was unprecedented with the victory of the 49er FX female crew, but the Breizhskiff Trophy 2022, once again, went to two sailing veterans – Alain and François Cadre!
Congratulations to the 240 people who participated in at least one gathering of this 2022 edition, which is still a very special event following the cancellation of Der and Saint-Suliac, but the organisers hope to see many sailor attend the France Open Skiff 2023, which is scheduled to happen from 8 to April 10, 2023.
