The Criterium Musto Regatta took place over two days at the end of September at the Club Nautique de Grandson (SUI).
A first for the Musto Skiff GER/SUI/AUT/FRA class to be in Romadia Swiss’ French side, south of Neuchâtel Lake, which was thanks to Stéphane Valdemarin who managed to convince his club CNG to set a date for the ‘Corsaire Class’.
- 11 Musto Skiffs made the journey with an emphasis on the ‘pillars’ known as Roger O, Nicolas D, Alex G, but also quite a few newcomers.
- Plenty of time on the water with 4 departures on Saturday in light wind. However, the wind was very tricky, so two races were cancelled just before arrival. There were then 4 races scheduled for Sunday in 13-20 knots, which was irregular in strength and direction, weakening on the last race.
A very good atmosphere on shore and on the water, with the Italian’s evening meal ‘porchetta’ which was enjoyed more than once after 6 hours of sailing!
This regatta was a great training weekend for all in the fleet, and it is becoming much tighter in the first third. Well done to the sailors who were on the podium, but also ‘bravo‘ to those who dared to jump into their first Musto regatta.
