The Musto Skiff Class launches its 2022 Annual Survey

The Musto Skiff Class Association (MSCA) has launched its 19th Annual Survey, inviting all its class members and the wider sailing community to share feedback on the current and future activities of the class.

The survey is free to participate in and is open to current Musto Skiff boat owners, as well as sailors from other classes who are keen to share feedback with the class association on areas such as how the class can attract new sailors and what is stopping others from sailing a Musto Skiff.

The survey also includes a class member only section, which will act as an online International AGM for the election of committee members and for gathering class member votes on international class matters. This year’s AGM will include the opportunity to submit a preference on the timeline to vote for a potential new mainsail design.

After class members voted to put the new mainsail project on hold in 2017, the project was restarted in February 2021 following a class vote to take advantage of the latest sail technology to explore whether the current mainsail would benefit from a new design. A prototype for consideration was subsequently developed by Hyde Sails in partnership with Ovington Boats. The vote on whether or not to adopt this new mainsail design will either take place in early or late 2023, depending on the majority preference on when to hold the vote. The latest status on this project can be found on the Musto Skiff class website: https://mustoskiff.com/class-update-musto-skiff-mainsail-design-project-nov-2022/

Whether you own a Musto Skiff, or you are simply a sailor that is interested in the class, all are encouraged to participate and share what they want to see from the class in 2023 and beyond.

The 2022 Annual Class Survey is now live and typically takes around 10 – 15 minutes to complete, including the member’s AGM section. To participate, click on the direct link below:

The survey will close at 9pm (GMT) on Sunday 8th January 2023

Following the close of the survey, a report with key highlights will be shared by the class association.
