Last Chance to Register for Dalgety Bay SC Championships on 25/26 Sept

The final event for the 2021 Hyde Sails Series is fast approaching for the GBR Musto Skiff class, and it will be the deciding event for the overall series winner!

The sixth and final Musto Skiff event to qualify for the series is the Hyde Sails Scottish and Northern Skiff National Championships at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club on 25th and 26th September 2021. Registration is still open, but will be closing this Friday.

The 2021 series is incredibly close, with Andy Tarboton and Jono Shelley set to battle it out for the overall series title and the podium prize sponsored by Hyde Sails UK. The series was launched earlier this year at Stokes Bay Sailing Club with the Stokes Bay Open on April 17th. It consists of six events across the 2021 GBR Musto Skiff Circuit, with three events allocated for the Southern Circuit and three for the Northern and Scottish Circuit.

GBR Class Chairman, Ben Schooling, said: “After the penultimate round of the series at Restronguet Sailing Club, the pack has shuffled, and we now have a new leader in the GBR Musto Skiff Circuit for the 2021 Hyde Sails Series. Our illustrious International Chairman, Andy Turbo Tarboton now has the smallest of margins over the Viking of the North, Jono Shelley, with Lord Hilton still in the mix in 3rd. A little birdie tells me that Andy has a flight booked to Edinburgh for the final round this weekend at Dalgety Bay SC. It really is all to play for with the winner taking home the trophy, the Champagne, AND a new Hyde Sails logo branded kite, thanks to our generous UK sponsor – Hyde Sails. I’m looking forward to the showdown….!”

As well as the main prize for the overall series winner, the top three podium places for the Musto Skiff class will also be awarded a bottle of champagne each.

There is a 20+ boat fleet anticipated and there is also free camping available at the sailing club. The host venue location is also impressive, with views of the infamous Forth Bridge in the distance, and a stunning sailing club setting to launch from. Edinburgh is also a short distance away, making Dalgety Bay SC easily accessible, with plenty to do for partners and family who may be travelling with you to the event.

There is still time to enter this event, but registration will close at 1pm on Friday 24th September, and there will be no registration available at the club. You can secure your place and view the NOR here >> (Links to Google Drive doc)
