The weather came good on Saturday with a wind range of 7 to 26knots And 180 degree shift range. The race officer placed the windward mark in the Reeds of the windward shore so this made it nice and easy for us to hoist our kites but the final approach to the windward somewhat precarious!
Dalgety Bay Sailing Club hosted the final Scottish Skiff traveller event of the 2019 season, which was held alongside the Scottish Laser championships. What was looking like a 10 boat MUSTO fleet whittled down to 5 Mustos, 2 29ers, and a Cherub. 12 MUSTO Skiffs visited Tynemouth Sailing Club on 28th and 29th September for a combined open meeting with the International 14 class. Day one started with a strong off-shore wind gusting 28kts which proved challenging conditions for the fleet. Read the full report here.
Largs is hosting the 2019 National Champs with 36 boats entered. The forecast was looking punchy and didn't disappoint with the fleet launching in 18-22kts with some of the older and wiser heads decided to stay ashore. With 9 different race winners over the 9 race series and the title coming down the wire, this 2019 event was one of the tightest in recent history, but Jamie Hilton took the win and was crowned the 2019 National Champion.
