Stokes Bay Mustoskiff
Open 14th and 15th April 2012
Report : Kit Stenhouse
Local sailor Bruce Keen was on good form
in the first 2 races and convincingly got 2 bullets,
in a shifting north easterly off shore breeze at Stokes
Bay.
Race 3 was won by Ian Martin from Datchet Water who
was putting a good series together. Kit Stenhouse had
a port tack flyer in Race 4, the race win went to Jamie
Hilton who came off the starboard end of the line immediately
tacking on to port and footed fast to the starboard
shift at the top of the beat.
There were lots of tricky shifts and changes in wind
pressure to bunch the fleet together.
7pm was ten to ten cowboy time, yeeha! Dan Vincent organised
a good social with a bucking bronco competition against
the B14 fleet and local kids. Richard Smith won lasting
24 seconds.
Sunday was the best day, North Easterly gusts of 22knts
appeared on the race track but mostly the wind was15
to 18 knots. Richard was pleased to get sailing after
Lego duty on Saturday and recorded 4 wins.
Sunday looked like survival of the fittest with lots
of capsizes but Dan Vincent was the fittest he ran a
marathon for charity on Sunday http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/DanVincentBrighton12.
Bruce Keen sailed well to win overall from Jamie Hilton.
