RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2012

Our class was well attended over the weekend,
with helpers Tim Chapman, Chris Henderson, Dave Poston
and Ben Schooling ably supported by UK class chairman
Jon Simpson, class marketing man Rick Perkins and international
secretary Paul Manning being kept busy by interested
sailors and class members popping in for a chat from
as far afield as Norway!
The new class demo boat was on the stand
and loads of kids were helping themselves to the car
stickers, no doubt to put on their parents cars as a
reminder of what they want when they grow up. We also
had a number of sailors who have requested a demo, and
we’ll be hoping to get them out as soon as is convenient!
We also gave away via our Facebook &
Twitter feeds 50 hoodies & T shirts.
The Ovington Boats stand was pretty well
mobbed on Saturday with our class revealing the 2012
World championship sponsors and event logo in conjunction
with ACO as well as what was surely the most talked
about boat of the show being the launch of the stunning
“Aura” women’s skiff trials contender.
